Roadmap to Research Advocacy
There are different types of advocacy and different activities included under the heading of advocacy
Most activities fall under one of four categories:
- patient services or education
- public policy or political advocacy
- fund-raising events with the proceeds going to research and the fund-raisers granting out the dollars to specific research projects
- research advocacy where the advocates provide the patient perspective to the research process.
